After the Tour is before the Tour: The organisers of the AvD-Histo-Tour around the Automobilclub von Deutschland (AvD) and Auriga{Historic have started with the preparations for the 2025 edition immediately after the finish of this year's event. The summer classic car rally with a sporty touch will be held in the second week of August (6-8 August 2025).
Following the proven concept, the rally will once again take place in the border triangle of Germany, Luxembourg and Belgium. The participants can look forward to redesigned routes through the low mountain regions of the Eifel and the Ardennes. Next year's edition will begin on Wednesday, 6 August at the ring°carré at the Nürburgring with the teams' check-in and the subsequent scrutineering of the vehicles. Immediately afterwards, the first highlight on the programme will be the start on the Nürburgring Nordschleife, the ‘Green Hell’.
Just like on all other race tracks, the aim is not to achieve the fastest possible lap times. The objective is rather to reproduce the target time set in the first lap as accurately as possible in the following laps. The participants will have a generous time window on all the race tracks for their exclusive use and to complete the scheduled regularity tests.
Before the end of the first leg, the participants will have to complete a few special stages on roads that are not very frequented in the Eifel region. The Dorint Hotel at the Nürburgring is then the finish of the opening day.
On Thursday, the second day, the participants of the AvD Histo Tour will be heading straight to the next highlight of the tour. The teams will start the first special stage of leg 2 from the pit lane of the Nürburgring Grand Prix circuit. After completing the laps there with as few penalty points as possible, the touristic journey continues without a break.
In the late afternoon, the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps is the next highlight on the programme. From the famous Ardennes rollercoaster in Belgium, the teams will then cross the border into the Kingdom of the Netherlands and head for the hotel in Maastricht for their second overnight stay.
And here the organisers will come up with another innovation as the Maastricht hotel will not only be the starting point of the third leg but will also be the finish of the third day of the tour and therefore the final hotel. This will avoid an additional hotel check-in for the participants and teams.
On the final Friday, right after the start from the hotel, a side trip to the former Formula 1 race track, the Circuit Zolder, is planned. Other carefully selected tourist routes will then follow and take the participants to the final destination. There, in Maastricht, the winners and classified teams in the two categories (‘Electronics’ and ‘ Sandglass’) will receive their trophies and high-quality special prizes at a festive evening event.
In the 2025 season, the AvD Histo Tour will again be part of the premier league of German classic car rallying and will be classified as an official event of the German Classic Series (www.dcs-rallye.de). The rally result will also count towards the overall standings for the German Classic Cup.
The AvD Histo Tour 2025 is open to classic and vintage cars built up to 2004. Entries for the AvD-Histo-Tour 2025 can be submitted as of now via the AvD homepage with immediate effect. All further details and information are also available there. If entries are submitted by 31.01.2025, the organiser will grant an ‘early bird’ and early bookers will receive a discount on the entry fee.
